Message requests appear in your Facebook Messenger All the people who you do not know can message you here, but their accessibility to your Facebook Messenger will not be allowed unless and until you message them back.

This helps users keep strangers out of their Facebook Messenger and can only be allowed if you add them to your friend list or accept their request to message you. However, the messages sent by people who are not on your Facebook Friends list will appear under the вЂ message requestвЂ feature for Facebook Messenger. Even strangers, whom you do not know, or somebody who is a friend of a friend but is not really close to you, can message you on Facebook Messenger. All the people on your Facebook Friends list can message you. Who Can Contact You on Facebook MessengerДЄnyone you have ever had a conversation with will show the chat in Facebook Messenger. The icon for profile pictures for people who have read your message also appears in group chats. This means that they have read the message sent by youДЇor a group chat, a message sent by you will show the picture of all the people who have read your message right under the message as shown in the image below. The icon which was previously a white tick will now show the profile picture of your friend.

Now whether they reply or not, is another story, but you know have been informed by the application that they have read the message as sent. This has to be the most important icon for Facebook Messenger users as this is the icon that informs you that your friend has read the message. A Circle Displaying the Profile Picture of the Recipient This means that your message has been delivered to the recipient of the message. You must understand the difference in meaning for both. While the icon for both is similar with a slight change in the color. People might get confused between the grey tick and the white tick. It has only been received by their network or their phone, and they will be notified about the message that you have sent. However, you must understand that the word вЂdeliveredвЂ™ here, does not necessarily mean that the recipient has вЂreadвЂ™ the message. This is the icon, on Facebook Messenger that shows your message has been delivered to the other end. Read the next heading to know the icon for вЂdelivered messageвЂ™. The icon for delivery is a bit different for that. This does not mean that your friend, whom you have sent the message to, has received the message. The white tick denotes that your message has been sent. The next icon that I will talk about is what will denote that the message has been received by the recipient. A message being sent does not necessarily mean that the recipient has received it. Look at the image below to know what this icon looks like. A tick denotes, if it is white, that your message has been sent. This is the next circle that appears for a message that has been sent from your side. A Grey Tick with a White Background within the Grey Circle Outline The Grey empty circle basically shows that your message is still being sent. I switched off my internet and then sent this message to my friend, and this circle appeared on my screen which meant that this message still has not been sent. If you see this on yourВ screen, you probably would have to wait for a bit till the message has been sent. This is the circle that appears next to your message on Facebook Messenger when your message is still in the process of being sent. The different kind of circles that appear on your Facebook chat with anyone has been highlighted in this image with the arrow. While there is an empty circle with a grey outline, there is a grey tick with a white background within the grey circle outline, there is a white tick grey circle and then there is a circle which shows the profile picture of the person you just sent the message to.

The same icons do not appear on Facebook chat. If you use Facebook Messenger and are new to it, you might have noticed the various kinds of circles that appear in front of or under the message that you have sent someone through the Facebook messenger.
